I hold The Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification along with a valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate and a valid Food Hygiene Certificate. Under new Safeguarding regulations both myself and partner have completed an enhanced DBS (criminal record checks) disclosure. I also hold a 5 star rating from the Food Standard Agency & Bristol City Council.

My own professional development is very important to me as I feel it is important to keep up to date with current academic thinking and changes in government policies.

The Curiosity Approach

I am delighted to announce that I have embarked on The Curiosity Approach accreditation scheme. I am working towards gaining recognition for providing beautiful play spaces and learning opportunities for the children within my setting. The Curiosity Approach is a wondrous ethos that focuses on Curiosity, Awe and Wonder in Early Childhood. I am excited to start this incredible journey and am thrilled to share it with you.

Over the coming year, I am looking to reflect on my current practice and standards and strive to make changes to our environment. Looking to use even more authentic resources, loose parts and an approach that provides wondrous learning opportunities for my incredible little learners. The Curiosity Approach is an ethos/approach where I will be focusing on and celebrating magical moments in early years, providing passion, and the invitation to learning, which will promote Curiosity, Imagination, and Awe and Wonder for the children within my setting.
